Glass fiber electric heating cables are suitable for heating and insulation of tanks, pipes, vats and other containers of various industrial equipment. They are mainly composed of electric heating materials and insulating materials. The electric heating material is nickel-chromium alloy strips, which have a fast heat generation and high thermal efficiency.

The service life is long. The insulating material is multi-layer non-alkali glass fiber, which has excellent temperature resistance and reliable insulation performance. This utility model has a flexible structure. When used, it can be directly wound around the heated component surface, with uniform temperature, simple installation, convenient use, and is safe and reliable.

Step 1: Preparation of pipeline surface
Surface to be heated: Clean the surface to ensure there are no foreign objects on it, such as liquids. Foreign objects will inhibit heat transfer, and liquids will damage the selected model of the heating tape (i.e., high-temperature heating tape).
Visual inspection of the heating tape: If the heating tape is torn or damaged, we recommend that you replace it. Damaged heating tape poses a safety hazard and will prevent proper operation.

Step 2: Heating tape installation (wrapping)
Due to its flexibility, the heating tape can be installed on almost any surface. Wrap the heating tape spirally around the surface to be heated, so that the entire length of the heating tape’s side comes into full contact with the surface. The distance between the spiral wraps depends on the uniformity requirements and the available quantity of heating tape. The minimum distance between the spiral wraps is 1/8 inch to avoid damaging the heating tape.
Use the built-in cable ties, high-temperature adhesive tape, or a mechanical clamping device that will not damage the heating tape to secure the heating tape to the surface.
Make sure that the heating tape is not knotted, twisted or hanging on the surface.
Do not overlap the heating tape on itself. This may cause damage to the heating tape due to overheating.

Step 3: Connect the heating band to the temperature control device
Your heat tape must be connected to an external temperature control device. Make sure your temperature controller is protected by a suitable circuit breaker or fuse of the right size. It is strongly recommended to use a ground fault circuit breaker. Installation may require the use of this type of circuit breaker.
For proper temperature control, please use a piece of tape to fix the thermocouple, RTD or other sensing devices so that they are close to the heater to prevent overheating.
