This button( Endo Button) is extensively used in orthopedic surgery, particularly in repairing and rebuilding the knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It is a non-traditional method of connecting grafts to bone during ACL restoration treatments.
The titanium button is a fixation device that secures and reliably attaches the graft to the bone. It comprises a small metallic button, made of titanium, that is affixed to the graft’s looped or folded end. The device is intended to be implanted into a bone tunnel drilled near the original ACL attachment locations in the femur (thigh bone) or tibia (shin bone).
It works by utilizing the mechanical properties of the bone and the design of the button. As the graft’s looped end is tightened, the button self-locks onto the bone’s outer surface, securely locking the transplant in place. This method provides robust attachment while allowing the graft to mend and integrate into the bone biologically.
It is recommended to use it with our UHMWPE sutures.
